Why house washing is a soft wash, not a pressure wash
A house exterior is a system of overlapping panels and joints designed to shed water falling downwards. Driving water sideways and upwards at pressure gets it behind the cladding, where it has no route out.
That is the failure nobody sees at the time. It shows up later as a stain on an interior wall rather than as anything visible outside.
Different surfaces, genuinely different jobs
Fiber cement board holds paint well and cleans predictably. Stucco is porous and will hold both the cleaning solution and the water if it is over-wetted. Brick is tough but its mortar joints are not.
Limestone is the one to be careful with. It is soft, it is everywhere on Austin elevations, and pressure erodes the face of it permanently.
North elevations and shaded walls
The green film on a wall is biological growth, and it grows where the wall stays damp longest — north-facing elevations and anything under a wide overhang or heavy canopy.

What about my plants?
Beds and shrubs against the wall are soaked with plain water before the wash starts and rinsed again after. Pre-wetting dilutes anything that reaches the foliage rather than making it harmless, so point out anything newly planted before we start.
Do you clean gutters and soffits at the same time?
Ask when you call and we will tell you what the quote covers for your elevation. Clearing debris out of the inside of the gutter runs is a separate job either way — that is gutter cleaning, not house washing.
